Swedish teens Jacob Holting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson continue to impress, securing their second consecutive Challenge gold at the Nuvali Beach Volleyball Challenge in the Philippines. Just one week after their historic victory in Chennai, where they made an incredible run from the qualifiers to the gold medal, the pair repeated their success, going all the way from qualification to the top spot once again. This marks their fourth podium finish on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour.
Germany's Paul Henning & Lui Wust, who also started in the qualifiers, earned silver, marking their first Beach Pro Tour medal as a newly-formed duo. The top-seeded English team, Joaquin and Javier Bello, secured bronze, adding to their impressive collection of medals, which includes a gold from the Rio de Janeiro Elite16 just a few weeks ago.
In a rainy final, Holting Nilsson & Andersson defeated Henning & Wust 2-0 (21-17, 21-16), with Andersson contributing 17 points and Holting Nilsson adding 13. Wust led the German team with 15 points, while Henning contributed 11.
“It was a tough journey, but we focused on one game at a time,” said Holting Nilsson. “Winning again feels amazing, but now I’ve got a lot of schoolwork ahead!” Andersson added, reflecting on the challenge of defending their title.
With this win, the Swedish duo proves their rising dominance on the Beach Pro Tour, leaving fans excited for their future performances.
